  1. MmmM - watermelon is my very favorite summer fruit. I'm definitely going to buy some this week.

  2. Checkers tends to consistently have the best variety and quality of produce...including local when in season. Aldi has a much smaller produce section and more often than not the fruit and veg are past their prime or completely out of stock. Any tips on which day to shop at Aldi for the freshest produce? I like the store, but can't seem to hit it on the right day for freshness and availability.

  3. I typically go to Aldi on Weds or Thurs, as it seems they change out their stock on Tues/Weds. But like you said, it is a smaller selection and you do have to be careful to look at the stuff and make sure it isn't too old. I buy some produce at Aldi, and some at Checkers. I buy a lot of dairy and meat at Aldi, as well as frozen and dry goods.

  4. I suspected Wednesday might be a good day because they would want to have the latest circular items on hand. Thanks for the info! (And thanks for the blog!)
